The Bare Knuckle Bishops are a heavy rock band based in northwest Indiana near Lafayette.

The band is the brainchild of guitarist Doug Simmons and drummer Raymond Fitzsimons. Around 2019 Doug and Raymond got together with a couple of other musicians to jam and write. However, schedules just never seemed to line up and the project went by the wayside. Over the following years they would touch base and talk about jamming but again, schedules failed to line up. In early 2024 Doug and Raymond rejoined forces to jam, and it was during these initial jam sessions that the concepts for No More Suicide and Let’s Ride came about. Numerous attempts to bring in other musicians fell short.

In November of 2024 singer Robin Hawley responded to a post by Doug looking for a bass player. Robin said that he knew of a bassist who might be available. In the process Robin was somehow convinced to check out the as-of-yet unnamed project. Robin reached out to bassist, David Jones, to inquire as to if he was still playing music or if he was interested in jamming with some guys he knew. As luck would have it David was available, and he and Robin met up with Doug and Raymond for the first time on the tenth of November. At that first session the group jammed to No More Suicide, Let’s Ride, and Rose. The four of them instantly clicked - the energy and magic in the room was undeniable. A few sessions later David strongly suggested that they officially form as a band and Doug offered the name Bare Knuckle Bishops. All agreed and the rest, as they say, is history.

The combination of musicians has yielded a new song nearly every session and the Bare Knuckle Bishops have an ever-growing catalog of material they are working on.
